Judge Releases Anna Nicole Smith's Body

A judge has released Anna Nicole Smith's body, allowing the former Playboy playmate's family to arrange her funeral.

Superior Court Judge Robert Schnider said that a Florida medical examiner had obtained sufficient DNA from the body for a legal battle to establish who is the father of her daughter Dannielynn. Her lawyer Ronald Rale said: "There was no need to in any way delay this process. We want to have a
proper burial."

The murky question of who is Dannielynn's father has been clouded further by reports that she may have been conceived with frozen sperm from late billionaire husband J Howard Marshall, Anna Nicole's second husband.

Wish they'd just hurry up and tell us who Dannielynn's dad really is so we can finally be done with this the trainwreck that was Anna Nicole's life.

Just when you thought
that Eddie Murphy's "Norbit" was going to tank at the box office:
Eddie Murphy's latest comic creation, the forbidding big mama Rasputia, faced off against the young Hannibal Lecter at the North American boxoffice this past weekend and easily squashed the young serial killer.

"Norbit," a comedy directed by Brian Robbins in which Murphy, with lots of latex and costuming, plays three roles, grabbed $34.2 million as it set up shop in 3,136 theaters and collected a resounding $10,904 per theater. The PG-13-rated movie, a DreamWorks production released by Paramount Pictures, was Murphy"s 14th No. 1 opener and his second-biggest opening ever for a live-action film. Setting aside the "Shrek" animated movies, in which he voices the character of Donkey, Murphy's best live-action opening remains 2000's "Nutty Professor II: The Klumps," which bowed to $42.5 million. "Norbit" was still several notches above Murphy's last comic outing, 2003's "The Haunted Mansion," which debuted to $24.3 million.

While "Norbit" belongs in a different movie universe than the current musical "Dreamgirls," for which Murphy earned the respect of his peers in the form of an Academy Award nomination, it still appealed to many of his fans. Moviegoers surveyed by CinemaScore awarded the film an overall grade of B, with moviegoers under 18, which made up 28% of the sampling, the most enthusiastic as they graded it B+.
Wow! An amazing $34.2 million to score the top spot. Goes to prove that fat suits equal box office gold. Big Momma’s House 1 and 2, Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Family Reunion and The Nutty Professor all opened above $20 million.

So all you gotta do is put on a fat suit and you’ll be guaranteed a winner!

Smokey Robinson Slams "Dreamgirls"!

From ImediNews:

LOS ANGELES (UPI) — Dreamgirls creators owe an apology to Motown Records, Berry Gordy and Diana Ross for a movie of false information, Motown icon Smokey Robinson said.

Robinson, front man for Smokey Bill Robinson and the Miracles, said the producers depicted Motown Records founder Berry Gordy and the Supremes' Diana Ross with a lot of false information and negativity, Access Hollywood said.

Robinson said the producers owe Berry Gordy a public apology ... rapidly.

It is like an insult to our intellect and our intelligence and our integrity and our leader and our love for each other and our legacy, Robinson said during a recent interview on the syndicated show.

He said he was particularly bothered by Jamie Foxx's character, Curtis Taylor Jr., which Foxx said was based on several record executives he knows, not Gordy.

Gordy not only created his dream, Robinson said, but allowed a lot of other dreams to come true and he did it with integrity.

I liked the movie and Jennifer Hudson deserves an Oscar, but what's up with Beyonce just having to get her own song?

Paris Hilton Uses The N-Word . . . Again

In a video posted Thursday to YouTube.com, Paris Hilton apparently says she and her sister Nicky Hilton "are like two [N-word]" while they are dancing to Biggie Smalls' hip-hop song "Hypnotize."

In addition to the racial epithet, Hilton also appears to use a homophobic slur in the video, which is attributed to
ParisExposed.com.

The hotel heiress has been accused in the past of using racial slurs, but has denied being a racist.

There is no indication of when or where the footage was taken, but it appears to be old.

By Friday, the video had been removed from YouTube because of a "terms of use violation."

Can somebody, anybody just shoot this bitch already? And while they're at it, put one in those skanks Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Ritchie too. Speaking of Nicole, considering that she has a Black father and that this isn't the first time Paris' been exposed as a racist, one would have to think that she's even more of an idiot for continuing to hang out with the likes of an ignorant whore like Paris.

Brandy Faces $50 Million Lawsuit

Gulf Daily News:

LOS ANGELES: Singer-actress BRANDY was sued for $50 million (BD19m) yesterday by the family of a woman killed in a four-car freeway crash which police have blamed on the 27-year-old performer.

The wrongful death lawsuit by the parents of AWATEF ABOUDIHAJ, 38, was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court a day after police recommended that prosecutors charge Brandy with a misdemeanor count of vehicular manslaughter.

The California Highway Patrol found that the entertainer, whose full name is Brandy Norwood, was at fault in the December 30 accident for failing to prevent her Land Rover from hitting the car in front of her when traffic suddenly slowed, CHP spokesman Leland Tang said.

Aboudihaj was killed when her vehicle slammed into a third car, careened into the freeway's centre divider and was hit broad-side by a fourth automobile.

The lawsuit, filed as a three-page form complaint, says her death was caused by "reckless driving" by Brandy. It seeks $50m in compensatory and punitive damages.

Tyra Banks Fights Back Against Claims That She's "Fat"

CNN: NEW YORK (AP) -- Tyra Banks, who has gained weight since her days strutting the catwalk, says she was upset when unflattering photos showing her in a one-piece bathing suit were mocked on the Internet.

"It was such a strange meanness and rejoicing that people had when thinking that was what my body looked like. It was really hurtful to me," the 33-year-old talk-show host says in an interview in the February 5 issue of People magazine.

The photos show Banks on a beach during a recent trip to Sydney, Australia. They had popped up earlier this month on a celebrity gossip Web site with the not-so-nice headline: "Tyra Banks is Fat."

Banks, who hosts the syndicated "The Tyra Banks Show" and the CW network's "America's Next Top Model," tells the magazine she weighs 161 pounds and has fluctuated from 148 pounds to 162 pounds, depending on how well she's taking care of herself, since retiring from modeling in 2005.

"I don't want to sit in front of you and be soap-boxy and fake and say, 'I love myself, I'm beautiful, it's great,' " says Banks, who is 5 feet 10 inches tall. "I still feel hot, but every day is different. It's when I put on the jeans that used to fit a year ago and don't fit now and give me the muffin top, that's when I say, 'Damn!' "

In other words, yes, she has put on weight, though not nearly as much as recent tabloid stories have suggested.

Maybe somebody needs to remind Tyra that the crude standards of "beauty" her old industry has set for eons now has a lot to with millions of women, including Tyra, thinking that they're "fat" when they're actually fine.

Naomi Campbell To Serve As Ambassador Of Rio de Janeiro

The beautiful but violent Rio de Janeiro invited the pretty but troubled Naomi Campbell to be its ambassador on Friday, two days after she admitted in a New York court to throwing a mobile phone at her housekeeper.

The British Campbell, a prominent black supermodel, told the mayor she wanted to raise money for the poor in Rio, a multiracial city known for its vibrant nightlife.

"She has an image that is the face of Rio de Janeiro, she could represent it abroad like nobody else," Mayor Cesar Maia said on the city's official website.

On Tuesday, Campbell was sentenced to five days of community service for third-degree assault during a dispute over a pair of jeans. She got a $363(about R2 630) fine and was ordered to attend anger management classes.

The supermodel had been charged with second-degree assault and faced up to seven years in prison and deportation.

The government of Rio de Janiero seriously needs help.

Regina King Files For Divorce

EurWeb.com:
Regina King is just beginning her run as the president’s sister on Fox’s new season of “24,” launched this week, but her marriage has sadly come to an end with news that the actress has filed for divorce.

After separating from her husband Ian Alexander last year, the actress tells Sister 2 Sister magazine that she filed divorce papers on Nov. 8, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

The L.A. native, who just turned 36 on Monday, tells the magazine she isn't ruling out a future marriage, but accepts "it's not an easy thing."

King and Alexander were married on April 23, 1997, and have one child, Ian Jr.

As an actress I've always liked Regina King, ever since her days on "227". I never thought she was "hot" or anything as some in the media would like you to believe, more like the cute around-the-way chick who got along with everybody. Sorry her marriage didn't work out, but if it's not meant to be you gotta' move on.

Don't Mess With Paulie

AP -

Goodfellas actor Paul Sorvino pulled a gun on his daughter's ex-boyfriend after the man pounded on her hotel door and made threats, the daughter testified.

"He got in my father's face and said, 'Go ahead, Paul, shoot, I ain't done nothing wrong'," Amanda Sorvino, 36, told a judge in Pennsylvania today.

The judge granted her request for a protection-from-abuse order against the 21-year-old, Daniel Snee.

Amanda Sorvino testified the man threatened to kill her at a Vermont hotel on January 3. She said she locked herself in the bathroom and called both police and her father.

Her 67-year-old father showed up before police, she said. When police arrived, the young man was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

Macy Gray Drops The 'F' Bomb On Stage

Star:

Who knew that swearing could land you in the slammer? Macy Gray has gotten herself in trouble with shocked Barbados fans — and the law — by dropping the "F-bomb" at a Wednesday night concert. She nearly got hauled off to prison!

The "I Try" singer, who ignored the warnings of her manager, went into a comical swearing tirade about her ex-boyfriends, repeating the word "mother-" at a concert at the Barbados Jazz Festival. After Gray repeated it about a dozen times, concert-goers knew that the mishap was no slip of the tongue! The room then grew silent and Gray later missed her scheduled meet-and-greet event due to a meeting with law enforcement authorities, who take Barbados's public profanity ban very seriously.
A fan waiting to meet the singer was disappointed at what she thought was "diva-like" behavior after Gray failed to show up after the show.

Luckily, Gray was spared the handcuffs, lockdown and fine after agreeing to make a public apology.

"I am so sorry for what happened, and I truly apologize. My manager told me about this law, but I didn't take him seriously," she said.

Peg Bundy Is A Mom At 52

Reuters -

LOS ANGELES - Former "Married … With Children" star Katey Sagal has become a mother for the third time at the age of 52 with help from a surrogate, People magazine reported on its Web site.

The actress and her writer-producer husband Kurt Sutter, 43, welcomed their first child together, Esme Louise Sutter, on Wednesday, People reported.

Sagal, best known for playing slovenly matriarch Peg Bundy on the long-running Fox comedy
"Married … With Children," has a 12-year-old daughter and a 10-year-old son from a previous marriage, the magazine added.

She married Sutter in 2004 in Los Angeles.

Whitney Houston's Sells Her Clothes To Pay Off Debt

Reuters:
NEW YORK - Grammy-winning pop star Whitney Houston sold off clothes and instruments Tuesday -- along with music awards won by her soon-to-be ex-husband Bobby Brown -- to pay a debt to the warehouse storing the items.

Houston, one of the most celebrated pop artists of the 1980s and 1990s, was ordered to unload the items by the New Jersey Superior Court.

Due to ongoing legal action, the amount raised by the auction will not be released, said Steve Newmark, co-owner of A.J. Willner Auctions, which handled the sale.

More than 400 lots were put up for sale, including pianos, keyboards, organs, drums, designer hats, shoes and outfits from well-known names like Giorgio Armani, Jean Paul Gaultier, Pamela Dennis, Gianni Versace and Dolce & Gabbana.

Among the more intriguing items were "Whitney's Throne" chair, a designer Lucite cocktail stand, a church pew and some of Houston's undergarments.

Angelina Jolie Disses Madonna!

From ElPasoNews.com:

PARIS -- Angelina Jolie says she was horrified by attacks on Madonna about her adoption of a toddler from Malawi, but suggested the pop singer took a risk because of the African country's adoption laws, a French magazine reported. "

Madonna knew the situation in Malawi, where he was born," the 31-year-old actress was quoted as saying in this week's edition of Gala, a gossip magazine. "In that country, there isn't really a legal framework for adopting. Personally, I prefer to stay on the side of the law."
Jolie and Brad Pitt, 43, have three children: 5-year-old Maddox, adopted from Cambodia; 2-year-old Zahara, adopted from Ethiopia; and another daughter, Shiloh, who was born to the couple in May.

Madonna, 48, and her 38-year-old filmmaker/husband Guy Ritchie are adopting a 1-year-old Malawian boy, David Banda. He joined her two children, Lourdes, 9, and Rocco, 6, in Britain in October.

Human rights groups in Malawi have said they are concerned the government cut legal corners to fast-track the adoption and that they want adoption laws there clarified. A November court ruling allowed a coalition of rights groups to monitor the process.

Jay-Z Teams Up With GM

From EOnline.com:

Sure he lords over the album charts, designs a clothing line (Rocawear), runs a record label (Def Jam), owns sports bars and even a minority stake in the New Jersey Nets, but now Jay-Z is really in the driver's seat, courtesy of General Motors Corp.

The rap mogul turned up in Detroit Saturday night for a GM Style event celebrating the public unveiling of the automaker's new vehicles and concept cars—among them his signature Jay-Z Blue, a 2007 GMC Yukon Denali that he spent more than a year designing in cahoots with GM's Global Color Studio.

"Automotive design, entertainment and fashion have had a profound influence on each other and American culture for generations,” said Ed Welburn, vice president of GM Global Design. “Tonight we're pairing a music icon, Jay-Z, with an automotive icon, the GMC Yukon Denali. Our Global Color Studio worked with Jay-Z to develop a fresh, vibrant color that matched his goals and aesthetics."

Big pimpin', indeed.
