From MTVNews.com:
Beyoncé told MTV News that she hadn't planned to put her cover of Des'ree's "I'm Kissing You" — which she retitled "Still in Love (Kissing You)" — on her re-released B'Day - Deluxe Edition album and video anthology, but other people insisted, telling her she'd be "crazy" not to. She might have benefited from a second opinion, since now she's being sued for copyright infringement over the track.Beyonce just needs to admit that she's a biter and cough up the dough. I mean it's not like she can't afford it.
The Royalty Network — which administers the publishing on behalf of Westbury Music, owner of the copyright for Des'ree's song — is asking for $150,000 in damages and seeks an injunction to recall the album from stores, according to a suit filed Monday in Manhattan Federal Court. A hearing to show cause has been scheduled for Monday.
